The Time Between
Does your spirit wander in the time between—the time between day and night, sleeping and waking, living and passing, the time between lives? Where does your spirit take you? Do you travel to distant planets, distant galaxies, new dimensions? Where do you go in the time between?
The moon shines brightly, balancing the light of the evening sky, and illuminating the Yesnaby cliffs and sea stack in this ancient landscape on Orkney Island, Scotland. It was almost the Summer Solstice and Orkney Island is at a high northern latitude, so the sun never sank very far below the horizon, creating this twilight sky that lasted the whole night. One of the definitions of the word sacred is "worthy of or regarded with reverence, awe, or respect." In this sense, I consider this place and places like this as sacred ground. This beautiful and uplifting contre-jour landscape created with digitally manipulated artistic photography.
